Write the era of prosperity and paint the beautiful Jinqiao.

In order to earnestly study and implement Comrade Xi Jinping's important thesis on the construction of socialist culture, further implement the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress, as well as according to the overall deployment of the Fourth and Second CPC Congress of Jinqiao Town, we will promote the construction of cultural brands and enhance the level of cultural services. Combining with the research activity of "not forgetting the original intention, keeping the mission in mind, and being the leader and forerunner in the new era", we have tapped the local resources and done the brand projects. At the same time, we have ushered in the commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the reform and opening up and the 29th "Spring of Jinqiao" Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition.

"Spring of Jinqiao is not only the home of Shanghai folk culture and art, but also a traditional culture of Jinqiao. It is an elegant activity that is written and coloured. "Spring of Jinqiao", which started its journey at the same time as the development and opening up of Pudong, has nurtured many authors of painting and calligraphy and left behind a large number of excellent works, which has written a precious chapter for the development of Pudong's painting and calligraphy career. On the basis of combing and gathering local celebrities in the neighbourhood, it vigorously introduces prestigious and attained calligraphy and painting art inheritance figures. At the same time, the participation of foreign celebrities from outside the neighbourhood has been continuously strengthened.

If we want economic development, culture comes first. Since the development and opening of Pudong, Jinqiao has made remarkable achievements in economic and social development. The establishment of Pudong Painting and Calligraphy Creation Base (Jinqiao), the establishment of Changfeng Hall Young Artists Growth Fund, and other colourful painting and calligraphy activities continue to be presented, forming a cluster effect of painting and calligraphy pen meetings, elegance gatherings, training courses, seminars, symposiums, and attracting people from all walks of life to participate.

This year, we insisted on not setting any threshold and widely soliciting works in the form of the theme of "Commemorating the 40th Anniversary of Reform and Opening Up", so as to achieve the participation and sharing of all the people. In order to provide the majority of painting and calligraphy enthusiasts with another opportunity and platform to display their talents, so that they can feel the beauty of the times and the beauty of life, and enjoy the fruits of the development of public culture. A total of 420 works were received during the event. After expert evaluation, nearly 200 works by 188 authors were selected. These works allowed a main line of traditional Chinese culture to be strung together in the hands of calligraphy and painting artists. The paintings of landscapes, birds and flowers, and figures are like telling something, and the views of the sky, the city and the fields convey emotions. They connect and radiate all the way. Elements of culture, character, and dreams float home. At the same time, we also compile these works into a book to convey to the readers and leave the memories that can be held and read for the cause of calligraphy and painting in Jinqiao. On 27th June, this calligraphy and painting exhibition was grandly opened in Jinqiao Culture and Sports Centre. Subsequently, a series of activities, such as calligraphy and painting workshops, calligraphy lectures, and parent-child graffiti interaction, were also held. After the exhibition, we selected more than 80 outstanding works to be sent to the park, community and school district for touring exhibition.

Anyone can see the face of spring, with hundreds of flowers blooming everywhere. This year is the 40th anniversary of reform and opening up, the 28th anniversary of the development and opening up of Pudong. The "Spring of Jinqiao" also took advantage of the good situation to turn over a new page of Pudong painting and calligraphy creation.
